General Statewide Policy Positions
Budget
- On September 29, 2021, MCCC sent a letter to Maryland Department of Health Secretary Dennis Schrader requesting the inclusion of $2.5 million in his FY23 budget proposal for the Sheila E. Hixson Behavioral Health Services Matching Grant Program for Service Members and Veterans. MCCC supported the bill that authorized the creation of the program, but the program is not yet funded. This program seeks to address the need for behavioral health services among veterans, service members, and their families in Maryland.

Montgomery College East County Education Center
- The Montgomery County Council appropriated $1 million to fund the initial costs of the Montgomery College East County Education Center. MCCC sent a letter to the Council, recommending that the Council fully fund the project. This recommendation comes after Montgomery College completed a Feasibility Study in September 2019, to determine the potential of a fourth campus.
