| Montgomery County Chamber of
Commerce: Who we Are, What we Do: |
| |
| As the Voice of Montgomery
County Business, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is seen as the
preeminent business organization in the County and a major force for
positive change in the community. |
| |
| We provide valuable County-wide
educational, marketing and networking opportunities; timely research,
information, programs and events; and other quality services to help our
members grow their businesses, connect to new opportunities, and engage more
fully in the community. |
| |
| We are also committed to
helping local business leaders make a difference in improving the local
business climate and the quality of life for our citizens through effective
legislative, public policy and political action. |
| |
 |
| |
| MCCC Offers Unique
Competitive Advantages: |
| |
| Montgomery County's only
countywide, broad-based business organization, representing 600 companies
and nearly 3,000 active individual members, in all industries, all sectors
(including business, non-profit and government), and all sizes. |
| |
| All of Montgomery County's
top-10 employers (and 24 of the top 25) belong to MCCC, including marquis
companies like Marriott International, Adventist Healthcare, Lockheed
Martin, NIH, Holy Cross, Bank of America, PEPCO, Washington Gas, Comcast --
and many more -- are active in our Board, Committees and general membership.
These are the companies and people you will be building relationships with,
as well as hundreds of small-to-mid-sized businesses (i.e. our membership,
unlike some of the local Chambers, is not limited to JUST small-mid-sized
businesses). |
| |
| MCCC hosts 4 of the top-5
business networking events that take place in Montgomery County each year
(Procurement Conference, Awards Dinner, Public Safety Luncheon, and Annual
Dinner). No one else can bring together so many leaders in our community in
one place at one time. |
| |
| MCCC has developed a unique
reputation as a Chamber that gets things done. We offer our members the
resources of a state-of-the-art lobbying and grassroots outreach program,
and a full-time team of some of the leading government relations
professionals to represent you in Annapolis and Rockville, whenever key
business issues are being discussed. Examples: MCCC took the lead in getting
the ICC study re-started (the project is now nearing a final decision -
later this year); fighting for key County facilities like the new Conference
Center, Strathmore Hall Arts Center, Blackrock, downtown revitalization
projects in Silver Spring, Rockville, etc.; and holding the line to keep the
business climate in Maryland and Montgomery County competitive by fighting
for pro-business tax and regulatory policies. |
| |
| MCCC also has a strategic focus
on getting business leaders and their employees more engaged in the
community, on legislative issues, charitable and volunteer activities, and
in local political races through our support for the
Montgomery County Business PAC (Political Action Committee).
