About the Certification
Earning Green Business Certification indicates that you are part of an innovative leadership movement to green your business operations and help transition to a sustainable future. It is designed to recognize businesses and other entities that have taken voluntary steps to protect, preserve, and improve the environment. Certified green businesses operate in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to environmental stewardship, and conserve energy and water, reduce their carbon footprint, and generate less waste and recycle more. Businesses that are interested in making their operations more sustainable can use the resources offered through the Green Business Certification Program to achieve this goal. The Green Business Certification Program is a partnership of the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, and Montgomery College.
