County Executive Leggett Visits The Chamber

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett addressed the Chamber's Legislative Affairs Committee on June 7 regarding the County budget, transportation, and economic development. Tom McElroy (right), Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Hughes Communications, Chair-Elect of the Chamber Board and Vice Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee, along with Josh Bokee (left) from Comcast, Committee Co-Chair led the meeting with the County Executive. READ MORE

Prince George's at Montgomery Chamber

Carla Reid, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development and Public Infrastructure and Aubrey Thagard, Assistant Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development and Public Infrastructure from Prince George's County spoke with the Economic Development Committee about their new strategic approach to economic development including a proposed $50 million fund. READ MORE


County Presents Bus Rapid Transit to Committee

Led by Committee Vice-Chair Gus Bauman, Beveridge and Diamond, P.C., the Infrastructure and Land Use Committee heard from Al Roshdieh, Deputy Director and Gary Erenrich, Regional Transit Program Coordinator from the Montgomery County Department of Transportation. Roshdieh and Erenrich discussed the County Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) feasibility study, which was completed by PB America. READ MORE

The Small Business Committee hosted Uzma Burki, Owner/Principal from Altvia Consulting, LLC for a presentation entitled, "Population Demographic Changes and Its Implications in the Workplace". Led by Committee Vice-Chair Judy Stephenson, President of OfficePro, the group discussed the advantages of maintaining a diverse workforce. READ MORE 


GovConNet Packs The House for DIA

DIA's contracting chief Don Camden spoke candidly to a packed room of government contractors at the GovConNet April meeting. He discussed contract opportunities and vehicles such as SITE and ESITA, outlined DIA procurement forecasts, and provided tips on how to read/respond to RFPs and proposal writing. Attendees were able to hear/ask questions on how to be successful with the agency/contractor. READ MORE
