Winner to be Announced at MCCC Business Awards Dinner on November 20, 2014

ROCKVILLE, MDThe Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) will announce the Verl Zanders Emerging Business of the Year Award winner at its annual Business Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 20.

The finalists for the 2014 Emerging Business of the Year include: Brain Sentry, Mobile System 7, and WeddingWire.

The Verl Zanders Emerging Business of the Year Award is presented to a company on the leading edge of innovation by creating milestones in technology and/or business practices that have enhanced earnings and contributed to the County’s reputation as an outstanding place to do business. The award is sponsored by The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development.

Brain Sentry, based in Bethesda, MD, has developed sensor technology that helps identify football, hockey, lacrosse players that have taken unusually hard hits to the head. The sensor is attached to helmets and helps coaches and leagues identify players that need to be assessed for concussion.

Mobile System 7, based in Bethesda, MD, is an enterprise security product company. The company's product, Interlock, protects enterprise data from unauthorized access and malicious attacks.

WeddingWire is an IT solutions company for wedding planning. WeddingWire is a Bethesda, MD based company that offers engaged couples the ability to search, compare and book over 200,000 reviewed wedding vendors, from wedding venues to wedding photographers.
