Major technological advances in Health IT are designed to reduce healthcare costs and improve the quality of care.  The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the Tech Council of Maryland will host a breakfast forum on this topic on Thursday at Johns Hopkins University - Montgomery County.

The Maryland Health IT Initiative seeks to address the demand for high tech employees to foster the state’s economy. Montgomery County businesses are  uniquely qualified to respond to national challenges as  medical records to patient care systems become automated. The County is advantaged by a highly educated workforce and the strong presence of federal agencies, notably SSA, NIH, FDA, HHS, and NIST.  The forum this Thursday is designed to address Montgomery County’s economic development goals in Health IT.
