MCCC Statement on Montgomery County on the Amazon HQ2 Short List

Rockville, MD – The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) is thrilled to see Montgomery County, Maryland on the short list for Amazon HQ2.  With a population of over 1 million and almost a third of our residents born outside the United States, we are a global and diverse community with unique assets and limitless opportunities.

The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, Montgomery County Government and the State of Maryland collaborated to provide a compelling proposal that highlights many of our strengths. Our educated workforce, high-quality K-12 and post-secondary school systems, multi-modal transportation options, robust internet connectivity and network infrastructure, inclusive values, outstanding quality of life and location on the mid-Atlantic seaboard makes Montgomery County the ideal community for companies looking to grow.
