Barbara Krumsiek, Calvert Investments Receives MCCC Emeritus Business Leader of the Year Award

ROCKVILLE, MDThe Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) honors Barbara Krumsiek, President and CEO, Calvert Investments with The Emeritus Business Leader of the Year Award at its annual Business Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 20. 

The Emeritus Business Leader of the Year Award is presented to an individual who has had a substantial impact on the way business is conducted in Montgomery County and who has shown, through many years of active and continuing service, a true commitment to the community.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Barbara Krumsiek, President and CEO of Calvert Investments.  “Giving back to the community is an important responsibility of corporations and something that I believe in.  At Calvert, we provide our associates up to 12 paid volunteer days each year to contribute to their communities.  Our associates participate in a wide range of community service activities such as working in a soup kitchen; cleaning up the environment; volunteering in schools; delivering food to homebound patients, and fundraising events.”

Barbara Krumsiek's celebrated career in the investment business spans over three decades. In 1997, she became the President and CEO of Calvert Investments. Calvert manages over $13 billion in assets for individual investors, retirement plans, pension funds, endowments & foundations, and high net worth investors.

During her tenure, Krumsiek has advanced Calvert's position in the field of sustainable and responsible investing. As head of Calvert, she has successfully advocated on issues relating to the advancement of women in business including efforts to increase the representation of women on corporate boards.

She serves on several private and non-profit boards and has been recognized by numerous organizations, including the United Nations for her work.
