200 Businesses Connect with U.S. General Services Administration at GSA Construction and Building Services Procurement Forum on October 7 at the Silver Spring Civic Building

SILVER SPRING, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development (DED) in partnership with Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) and The U.S. General Services Administration will host the GSA Construction and Building Services Procurement Forum on Tuesday, October 7th at the Silver Spring Civic Building. Two-hundred businesses will receive access to experts in key areas through panel presentations and breakout sessions.

Special guests Senator Ben Cardin and Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will provide welcome remarks. Michael Gelber, Deputy Commissioner, Public Building Service, GSA will provide a keynote presentation of an overview of GSA Purchases for Construction and Building Services.

Joel Zingeser, Grunley Construction, and Chair of the Washington Building Congress, will moderate a panel discussion featuring a discussion of procurement opportunities with GSA’s Public Building Services, National Capital Region.

Panelists include:

  • Philip Klokis, Associate Chief Information Officer, PBS, GSA
  • Jennifer Smith, Director, Office of Acquisitions, PBS, NCR
  • Shapour Ebadi, Director, Office of Design & Construction, PBS, NCR
  • Bart Bush, Assistant Commissioner of Client Solutions, PBS

Four breakout sessions will discuss opportunities and best practices from the perspective of the Procurement Officer, Prime, and Sub-contractors. Breakout session topics include:

  • Construction services
  • Building operations and maintenance
  • Workplace and office supplies
  • IT and communications services

Exhibitors representing MCCC’s GovConNet Council, MCCC, The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development, and Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce will provide participants with resources for government contractors.
