Topic: Montgomery County Green Bank Information Session

Location: F Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, 603 Edmonston Dr, Rockville, MD 20851

In June 2015, Montgomery County became the first county in the nation to pass legislation to establish a local Green Bank.  The purpose of the Green Bank is to partner with the private sector to increase investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the county.  Based on the experience of state models across the country, this holds tremendous opportunity to enhance our local economy, improve our County's built infrastructure, and advance our environmental protection goals.

We are at the very beginning stages of implementing this legislation, and we invite stakeholders of any level of interest to attend the Montgomery County Green Bank Information Session.

This event will cover:

  • An orientation on the recently passed legislation
  • A review of similar initiatives in other states and jurisdictions
  • Answers to your questions: What can a Green Bank do?  What sectors will it serve?  What will it "look like"?  And, how will it be governed?
  • The County's Work Group process and how to get involved
