Building a Purple Line for the Metro system and a Corridor Cities Transitway, connecting Shady Grove to Clarksburg, are among Montgomery County’s top priorities for state transportation projects, as identified by the County Executive and County Council. County Council Deputy Staff Director Glenn Orlin, a longtime transportation expert in Montgomery County, discussed these and other priorities at the March 8 meeting of the MCCC Infrastructure and Land Use Committee, headed by MCCC Vice-Chair Gus Bauman of Beveridge and Diamond.

Additional priority projects include transportation improvements associated with the Base Realignment and Consolidation (BRAC) process involving the merger of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Naval Medical Center to form the newly consolidated Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
