Councilmember Floreen Reviews County Issues

Councilmember Nancy Floreen joined Vice-Chair Gus Bauman, Beveridge & Diamond, PC, and the Infrastructure & Land Use Committee on October 11th to discuss issues facing Montgomery County. Currently, Floreen chairs the Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development (PHED) Committee and sits on the Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy, and Environment Committee (T&E).

Floreen discussed a myriad of issues with the Committee who engaged with her in a lively discussion on some of the most pressing issues facing the County. The Councilmember began her comments with Council redistricting and went on to discuss land use issues, including the new CR Zone, transportation and the County’s Transportation Task Force, and navigating issues between state and local governments.

During the course of the conversation, Floreen emphasized the need to be fiscally responsible with regards to infrastructure and transit improvement programs going forward with a funding plan already laid out and decided. Members of the committee also brought their concerns to the Councilmember during the meeting.
