Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer Tim Firestine, and Management and Budget Director Joe Beach briefed the MCCC Legislative Affairs Committee recently on the County Executive’s recommended Fiscal Year 2012 Operating Budget. Firestine and Beach noted that the budget closes a projected $300 million gap between revenues and expenditures, with much of the savings come from the Executive’s call for increased employee contributions into the pension system and cost-sharing adjustments in employee health benefit plans.

MCCC's Vice-Chair for Legislative Affairs is Tom McElroy of Hughes Network Systems and Josh Bokee of Comcast is Co-Chair.

The County Executive's recommend FY 12 operating budget is now before the County Council, which must approve a final version by the end of May.
