2014 Legislative Session

In the 2014 Legislative session, MCCC advocated for policies that promote a vibrant economy:

Tax reform:

  • Support creating the Commission on Tax Policy Reform and Fairness

Business climate:

  • Support legislation that minimizes a restrictive regulatory environment

  • Increased funding for economic development entities

  • Grow key sectors within the knowledge-based economy

  • Invest in educational institutions from Kindergarten to Higher Education

  • Lower trade barriers to promote global commerce

Throughout the session, MCCC updated a number of Policy Memos on key items of interest to our members such as:

  • Business Climate
  • Education and Workforce
  • Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Energy
  • MCCC also advocated on behalf of the Veterans Institute of Procurement (VIP) program managed by the MCCC Foundation.
